Google Inc. to stop an ambitious project to create new energy and cheaper than coal, a new decision issued by the Chief Executive Larry Page Google to develop Google with energy efficient.

Google said on Tuesday had stopped seven projects including the New Energy and Cheaper than Coal. Service online encyclopedia Wikipedia calls it the Knol project.

The plan announced by Google over the company’s blog called it a “spring cleaning”, an announcement made Google since Google founders Page took control in April.

The decision comes as Google is facing tough competition with Apple in mobile computing and social networking with Facebook and some investors grumbling Google spending high.

“Essentially, we’re closing a number of products that do not have a major impact, integrating other sources as an additional feature to develop products and put an end to several different measures,” wrote Google’s Senior Vice President of Operations Urs Hölzle in a blog post.

Google believes there are others that the institution can better develop new energy “to the next level.

Google started to invest and research technologies to lower the cost of creating a new energy in 2007 with a focus on solar power technology.

In 2009, the Company’s Green Energy Czar, Bill Weihl, told Reuters that he was able to show in a few years a technology that can generate new energy at a price cheaper than coal.

“It’s even weird, more or awkward,” said Weihl at the time. “In three years, we can have some plants that produce megawatts out there.”

A Google spokesman said Weihl has left Google earlier this month.

Google noted in his blog post that they will continue the project to generate energy “cleaner and more efficient,” including the procurement of new energy for the data center.

Among other projects included in “spring cleaning” that is Google Knol, Google Search Timeline, Google Gear, Google Friend Connect, Google Bookmarks and Google Wave List, a social networking and communication services that Google fails to develop.

Google said in December, all email messages and calendar applications will no longer work with technology that lets Gears Google software works when not connected to the Internet. Google is working to create pengubung off-line capabilities into HTML5 technology instead.

Google Friend Connect page that allows publishers to add social features to their pages will retire in March for all non-Blogger pages. That’s because Google recommends web users use Google’s social networking pages + instead.

Behold the iPad in All Its Glory.

Amazon and Apple are preparing a new version of the tablet computer Kindle iPad Fire 2 and 3 to be exhibited in the first quarter of next year, according to rumors circulating technology.

Fire newest Kindle has a larger touch screen 8.9 inches while the Kindle Fire is currently only 7-inches. According to technology blog Digitimes, the Taiwanese electronics giant Foxconn will begin production of the latest Kindle Fire in the first quarter of 2012 and launched into the market in the second quarter.

Apple iPad Tablet third generation will make its debut at the same time. According to iLounge citing anonymous sources, the iPad 3 has a size of 0.77 mm thicker than on the iPad. Reportedly, the extra space on the iPad 3 will be used to light the display screen in order to support the “Retina” high resolution, as it was first used on the iPhone 4.

iLounge says the new device is set to be released in March. The launch is planned for the second tablet will be head-to-head draw between Amazon and Apple in the spring of next year. So far Apple iPad tablet dominate the market.

Fire-based Kindle tablet Google Android was introduced in the United States this month and is widely regarded as a strong challenger to the iPad. Tablet price is half the price of the iPad 2, but some reviews said the Kindle Fire feature poor. A new tablet Kindle Rapid Fire with better specifications can mark the beginning of a real contest with Apple.

Later, the iPad 3 is expected to keep the pressure on competitors with the latest processors to support kinderja tablet applications. Apple’s latest processor A6 estimated made by British company ARM with a four-core or quad-core. Currently the A5 processor iPad 2 has only two cores.

postheadericon Presenting Marine Park Into Your Space

Enjoying the beauty of marine parks in the living room of your house? Why not? The development of technology and science, has provided an invaluable benefit for those of you who are less brave or not able to dive (diving) to be able to enjoy the natural beauty of the underwater in the living room of your home.

Marine park in your house, but can provide added value to your home and status, are also able to participate and contribute to scientific knowledge to you and your family especially our children, especially those related to marine.

Why You Do not Give it a try?

Hobiies oceanarium is basically divided into two main groups. The first group-oriented hobbies into marine ornamental fish. The group is known MARINE FISH AQUARIA. The other group-oriented and known to the coral reefs Corals AQUARIA REEF. Thus, we recognize the special preserve marine aquarium marine ornamental fish and aquarium marine reef coral and maintain special.

MARINE REEF FISH or Corals?

We will ask, marine aquarium which contains only the ornamental fish, anything interesting? if not in join with coral and reefs. And vice versa, we will also ask, marine aquarium with corals and reefs just what to pull? when not combined with ornamental fish. Is not the real marine park under the sea beauty is the incorporation of coral, corals and ornamental fish?

Then when you start to build a marine aquarium, its orientation to the marine reef fish or Corals? You certainly want your existing aquarium coral, reef fish and dressing well (mixing orientation).
As we learn a science, whether it be English, Mathematics, Accounting, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and other knowledge. We must start from the beginning, the stage of introduction, basic / elementry, middle / intermediate and advanced / advance. Similarly, marine aquarium hobiies this. Combining coral, corals and ornamental fish in an aquarium, an advanced level lessons / advance.

Marine Aquarium Fish
Aquarium of the orientation of the marine ornamental fish, aquarium space requires a broader and deeper. Fish is an active biota move / swim here and there, so the aquarium is large it will make them be like in the original habitat. In addition, ornamental fish is also the biota of the most polluting in our aquarium. Marine ornamental fish are beautiful, like Napoleon, Anularis Blue Line, Batmen, generally live at depths of 10 meters to 30 meters. At such depths, their feed is not necessarily the same as the ornamental fish which are at depths of less than 2 meters. The fish that live at depths of 10 to 30 meters, they are already consuming organisms that live at sea with a certain depth that has been provided on land difficult and although there had been very expensive. Like the coral polyp, copepods, amphipods, dinoflagellates of the genus noctiluca, kinorhynch of the genus echinoderes, sea gooseberries – pleurobranchia pileus, comb jelly of the genus beroe, Cucumis beroe of entoprocta phylum, and others. They feed mostly a plankton from the sea. Feed-feed is largely as a result of raising water from deep sea to the sea known as upwelling. Sea water pressure at depths up to 30 meters already bigger than the sea surface. The more nutrients into substances needed for marine fish are also commonly found growing compared with sea level which is often contaminated.

This information into the causes why the marine ornamental fish can not remain long in the aquarium. Indeed, fish-sea fish such as sharks and rays malignant, often found in shallow peraliran. This they did only to find foods that are often found in shallow peraliran but even then at certain times when the tide rises.
Of information and discussions with world experts in this field, as is often the writers do with Anthony Calfo, Robert M. Metelsky, Terry Black, and the other through Internet sites, rare marine aquarium which contains only the ornamental fish only. Aquarium so generally is a giant aquarium with a capacity of thousands of cubic liters of water like a large aquarium at Sea World in Jakarta or Singapore Under Water World, the aquarium is generally only contain a large fish like shark, Pari, Tuna, Kerapuh, Grouper and fish- Another big fish is not difficult to give their feed, because their feed is a rather small fish, shrimp and meat. While ornamental reef fish such as napoleon beautiful color, betmen, anularis blue line, trigger flowers, a sense of the leadership, and other reef fish species are always coupled with the corals have a lot of overgrown plants and animals such as sponges corals, polyps, mushrooms and others. Tank also has a large, reaching into up to 3 meters. There is a long aquarium has reached 3 to 5 meters. From this information, we can conclude that the marine aquarium for ornamental fish can still be divided into two major groups.

Pipeline im Bau

Demand for oil and gas increases provide significant growth impact on offshore construction projects to find and produce hydrocarbons, including the construction of subsea pipelines. Since the underwater pipeline was first constructed, up to now has thousands of miles installed in various regions around the world such as in the North Sea, Mediterranean, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Middle East, Russia, Australia, and Latin America.

Along with the development, technological advances and the increasing need for oil and gas, exploration, and exploitation of the earth began to come into pengeboranminyak and gas in deeper waters. In this case the improvement of engineering design and construction of offshore optmasi indispensable, especially in the construction of subsea pipelines. Offshore pipelines are constructed in a certain depth should be designed in such a way that maintained its integrity both during construction and during operation. During construction, pipeline buckling aka experiencing voltage variation when lowered from the barge to the seabed caused by lateral flow and other dynamic conditions. Once the pipeline is completed constructed on the seabed, the pipeline is still open to the risk of damage due to internal conditions, the strength of the pipe material and working pressure in the pipeline, as well as external conditions such as waves, tides and currents at the site, soil instability, temperature, anchors, fishing nets and so on.

For the first time, six of the key universities in fisheries science from this region; University Malaysia Terengganu (Malaysia), Prince of Songkla University (Thailand), Universitas Airlangga (Indonesia), Can Tho University (Vietnam), Kasetsart University (Thailand), Nong Lam University (Vietnam) and the Department of Fisheries, Malaysia join forces to co-organise a symposium to address critical issues in sustainable fisheries. Fisheries is one of the most important food production sectors in supplying protein to the human population. According to Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), world fisheries production in 2008 touched 146 million tonnes and a record value of 103 billion USD. Due to the increasing health consciousness of the consumers, seafood demands increase drastically during the past decade. The ever growing human population has pressurize on the sustainability of the fish population in the sea. The issues of over-harvesting, global warming, pollution and fisheries stock management continue haunting the industry. If the present situation does not improved, The United Nation is projecting a 40 million tonnes seafood shortage in 2030. Sustainable fisheries is no longer a gimmick but a real battlefield for scientists and managers to fight for. The symposium is just the right platform for the scientists and managers to shape the strategies towards sustainable fisheries.

Realizing the importance of the cross boundary collaboration in sustainable fisheries, this symposium aims to assemble local, regional, and international scientists to discuss and share their findings and knowledge in sustainable fisheries, and to strengthen ties and linkages between researchers from different countries. The scope of the symposium encompasses critical issues and topics pertinent to sustainable fisheries. This includes: fisheries and marine science, aquaculture, environmental and resources management, fisheries marketing and economics
Objectives of the symposium

* To assemble local, regional, and international scientists to share their knowledge and findings in sustainable fisheries

* To tighten professional linkages between the fellow academicians and scientists in the field of fisheries and aquaculture across different countries;

* To enhance the role of academic and research institution to an international platform

postheadericon Natural Phosphate Cycle Part II

Červený fosfor; (en: red phosphorus)

Phosphorus is an essential part of protoplasm, tend to be “outstanding”, organic compounds decompose and consequently generate a return of phosphate available to plants. reservoir of phosphorus is not air, but the rocks or other deposits that have formed in the centuries that have geological past. And all was gradually eroded, releasing phosphate into ecosystems, but many were off into the sea, where most of it in in shallow sediments, and partly lost to the sediments deeper. Ways of controlling phosphorus kedaurnya now or that there is not adequate to replace the lost (Odum, 1993).

In some parts of the world today there is no sediment removal or appearance of the area, and the activities of sea birds and ikanpun (carried by animals and humans kedarat) is not enough. Clear sea birds play an important role in decision-phosphorus into the cycle (evidence Guano deposits in Peru’s famous). Removal of phosphorus and other substances by the birds from the sea to dartan still ongoing, but not at the same rate. It seems that humans also plays a role in phosphorus removal process. Although many human taking of marine fish, Hutchinson estimates that only about 60,000 tons per year of phosphorus element is returned in this way, compared with one or two million tonnes of phosphate rock mined and most leached and lost. Agricultural experts tell you, no need to worry as phosphate rock reserves are still large. Precisely now, people pay more attention to “the chaos and traffic jams” that soluble phosphate in the streets that causes the waters of the increasing “erosion” that can not be in the Balance or replaced by “sisitem protoplasm” and “sedimentation” (Odum, 1993) .

Phosphorus does not move evenly and smoothly from the organism into the environment and back into the organism. Generally the rate of retrieval is faster than the release rate. The herbs are ready to take phosphorus in the dark as well as other conditions if they can not use it. During periods of rapid growth of the producer-rodusen that often occurs in the spring, all the available phosphorus is bound in the producers and consumers. Phosphorus concentrations at the time something may have little relation to ecosystem productivity. Low levels of phosphate which is soluble means that the system is impoverished or the system are metabolically very active, just by measuring the rate of revenue the state can actually be determined

postheadericon Natural Phosphate Cycle

chemical structure of tripotassium phosphate

Natural Phosphate Cycle
Many sources of phosphate are in use by animals, plants, bacteria or other living creatures that live in the sea. For example, the phosphate derived from the feces of animals (of bird). The remaining bones, rocks, which are fosfatik, phosphate-free from weathering and erosion processes, phosphate-free in the atmosphere, plant tissues and animals that have died. In the phosphorus cycle there are many interactions between plants and animals, organic and inorganic compounds, and between water column, surface, and the substrate. For example some animals release large amounts of solid phosphorus in their feces.

In a normal marine waters, the ratio N / P is equal to 15:1. Ratio N / P increased potential cause blooming or eutrofikasiperairan, where there is uncontrolled growth of phytoplankton. Eutrophication potential negative impact on the environment, due to the reduced dissolved oxygen resulting in the death of other aquatic organisms (asphyxiation), in addition to poisoning due to toxins produced by phytoplankton (genus Dinoflagelata). Phytoplankton accumulate N, P, and C in the body, respectively – each with a value of CF (concentration factor) 3 x 104 for P, 16 (3 x 104) for N and 4 x 103 for C (Sanusi 2006).

Phosphorus availability
The study of the circulation of phosphorus in marine aquatic environments is a concern in many fields of science disciplines. By using 32P the researchers produced a general conclusion that the concentration of phosphorus that will change because phosphorus is one of the substances used by phytoplankton in the process of metabolism. Damanhuri (1997) suggests that the phosphate levels will be higher with menurnya depth. Relatively constant concentration of phosphate in waters in the deposition that usually occurs nutrients increases with time due to oxidation processes f and organic materials. The process of run-off from the mainland to supply the phosphate levels in the surface layer, but is not too large. The biggest additions of layers in the process of increase in the water.

Phosphorus appears in the diverse in marine environments, some appear in the form of an organic composition such as proteins and sugars, some also appear in the form of organic calcium and partly in the form of inorganic phosphate and iron particles, and also in the form of soluble phosphates, although phosphorous appears in concentration under nitrogen, phosphorus but in fact can be easily constructed or provided within or available within the zone of light penetration that prevents phosphorus becomes a limiting factor in marine productivity.

Water mass bodies of the Southern Ocean

Source of phosphate in coastal marine waters and continental shelf is a river. Because the river brings waste and other sources of phosphate land, so the source of phosphate  greater than the surrounding rivers. The presence of phosphate in the water will break down into compounds ionization, among others, in the form of H2PO4-ions, HPO42-, PO43-. Phosphate is absorbed by phytoplankton and so enter into the food chain. Phosphate compounds in waters derived natural sources such as soil erosion, waste from animals and plants decay, and from the sea itself. Elevated levels of phosphate in sea water, will cause a population explosion (blooming) of phytoplankton which can ultimately lead to mass fish deaths. The optimum limit phosphate to the growth of plankton is 0.27 to 5.51 mg / liter (Hutagalung et al, 1997).

Phosphate in sea water in the form of phosphate ions. Phosphate ions required in the process of photosynthesis and other processes in plants (the form of ATP and coenzyme Nukleotid). Absorption of phosphate can continue even in the dark. Orthophosphoric (H3PO4) is a form of inorganic phosphate are most numerous in the phosphate cycle. Distribution of diverse forms of phosphate in sea water is influenced by biological and physical processes. Surface water, phosphate transport by phytoplankton since the process of photosynthesis. Phosphate concentrations above 0.3 μm will cause the rate of growth in many species of phytoplankton. For concentrations below 0.3 μm are suitable blocking the cells and cells lacking phosphate produced. Maybe this will not happen at sea since NO3 PO4 always run out before falling to critical levels. In the summer, the water level close to 50% as organic-P. At sea in the most P-shaped inorganic. In winter nearly all the P is inorganic. Variation in the coastal waters due to upwelling processes and the abundance of phytoplankton. Mixing that occurs on the surface in winter can be caused by linear forms in shallow water. After a winter and summer abundance of phosphate will be greatly reduced.
